Butch Cassidy look a like

So a few months back I was going through the biographies and I came across a book with this picture on it. It creeped me out terribly because I thought I was looking at Aaron. I know Aaron's mom told me they were related to Butch Cassidy (aka Robert LeRoy Parker), but after seeing this picture I knew they were related. He was a cousin to Aaron's Grandmother. While we were driving home from Bryce Canyon, we drove through Butches hometown in Circleville, Utah and I was once again reminded of this when we saw the local newspaper that had a front cover story on Butch. For some reason his story fascinated me. My family also lived in the Southern Utah area and one of my relatives was Virgil Kelly who was a famous Sheriff who outlaws feared. I wonder if they ever crossed paths...

I wish I could find a better picture of Aaron that shows how much they look a like. This one almost does the trick. They have the same eye shape, jaw line and even their hair line is the same...

New Pictures

So are you wondering about our new family picture that I just added to our blog? Well, my dear friend Joanne has learned a lot about photography and asked a few of her friends to have their pictures taken while she was visiting Utah last month. She did an amazing job. To see a few more of our pictures, check out her website: joannedittmerphotography.com.

Bryce Canyon

Here are some pictures of us in Bryce Canyon. We had a wonderful time. We did a few hikes, saw Saturn through a telescope, played in water, ate at the lodge and had some good family bonding time.

Cedar City and Shakespeare

If you remember, my kids were in a Shakespeare class last semester where they got to preform the play "The Tempest". Their teacher got them the opportunity to preform their play at the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City. There, they have a theatre that was built to look like the Globe theatre and that is where they preformed. Poor Emma got sick right before it began from drinking too much pool water so she was not able to be apart of the performance. I felt so sad for her. The other two had a great time.

Danielle's Dress

I really wish I had a better camera to do this dress it's justice. Here are some pictures of a dress I just made for my friend Danielle. It turned out so pretty. It's made out of silk dupioni. She had a piece of lace from her wedding dress that I put along the bottom. I hand stitched the top to look like the lace and added some gathered fabric to the bodice. I also added some pin tucks to the bottom as well.

Last Show of the Season

Here is Emma at one of her last shows of the season. She did very well!! So proud of her.

Here is Emma with her teacher Miss Mary

Aiden's baptism

Here are some pictures from Aiden's baptism. It was a great time with friends and family. I'm so grateful for his choice to be baptized. In our family the choice is up to our kids to be baptized or not. I make sure they know it is their choice. Aiden was begging to be baptized and was happy to do so. Not only was this a special day for Aiden, it was also his best friend Clayton's special day. We were lucky to be able to do a joint baptism, thanks to Clayton's mom, Krista. We had many friends and family show up which was so nice to give Aiden the support. Uncle Thomas said the prayer, Uncle Brad and Grandpa Kibbie were witnesses, I got to give a talk on the Holy Ghost and Krista gave a talk about baptism. We could definitely feel the love of God there surrounded by our friends and family.

Third times a charm...finally a picture without a goofy face :) This reminds me of some family pictures my mom has of my older siblings. Erik was making a silly face in about 10 different pictures my mom tried taking.

Aiden is offically a Cub Scout now and so far it has been so much fun. Here are some pictures of his first pack meeting. He earned his bob cat and a few belt loops.

Aiden's 8th Birthday

Aiden turned 8 this year and all he wanted to do is have a water fight with his friends. So we invited his homeschool and neighborhood friends with their water guns and played for an hour. He had a great time!
