Fun Cleaning

Yes, this is what my kids call cleaning when they are working together.  Someone makes up a game and they start "playing" as they clean.  Oh how I love this!  Cleaning is getting done while I hear giggling.  It's not always fun and games, but there are a lot of times where my house is like this.  I love that they have time to be creative and enjoy each other!

Ode to my Old Jeans

So why is it that once you jeans turn into your most favorite comfy jeans that they wear out?! It's so sad to me that this happens. I think I am the most picky when it comes to the way something fits. These jeans have been so nice to wear that I go to great lengths to wear long shirts with them to hide the holes that have developed around the back pockets. I do not like clothes shopping because I'll spend hours trying clothes on and come away with one thing that worked. I remember having battles with my mom with clothes because I didn't like the way they fit. Sure they were cute, but if they were restrictive or uncomfortable in any way I would protest. Perhaps this is the reason why I have a hard time sewing for myself because it's hard to tailor something on your own body. If any of you out there are good at this and are willing to give me some tips I would LOVE it! Now on to my search for the perfect jeans...

Here I am in my current favorite jeans that will soon be in the "jean graveyard" (don't mind the construction in the back ground, that's what happens when your kids take your picture ;), she did a pretty good job otherwise):

A close up shot of the wearing out. Notice the holes in the knees and the fraying around the cuff...

Cute picture taken by Krista

The kids recently spent some time with their "cousins". Some how they were able to cram 10 kids into this trailer...Wow, I can't believe we have that many kids!!

Butch Cassidy look a like

So a few months back I was going through the biographies and I came across a book with this picture on it. It creeped me out terribly because I thought I was looking at Aaron. I know Aaron's mom told me they were related to Butch Cassidy (aka Robert LeRoy Parker), but after seeing this picture I knew they were related. He was a cousin to Aaron's Grandmother. While we were driving home from Bryce Canyon, we drove through Butches hometown in Circleville, Utah and I was once again reminded of this when we saw the local newspaper that had a front cover story on Butch. For some reason his story fascinated me. My family also lived in the Southern Utah area and one of my relatives was Virgil Kelly who was a famous Sheriff who outlaws feared. I wonder if they ever crossed paths...

I wish I could find a better picture of Aaron that shows how much they look a like. This one almost does the trick. They have the same eye shape, jaw line and even their hair line is the same...

Eva is on the move

Eva has begun to scoot backwards. This morning I found her in this position. I found it quite amazing that she could contort herself into this position without crying. If only I could be that flexible again...

Aiden

Aiden did it again...he lost another tooth. Actually his dad pulled it out of his head after much begging from Aiden. This tooth missing really changed his smile. What a cute boy

Here is Aiden trying to make Eva laugh the other day while we were at the skating rink. He's got some great moves :) .

What kids do with art supplies...

So, the other day I left the kids to their art supplies. Robyn got very creative with masking tape and her water colors and made fake nails with them....

Robyn making nails for Gwen...

Next thing I know...

"Look at my nails mom!!"
Strange look from mom to Robyn.
Robyn quickly replys "They are boy colors!"

Snow fun in February

Robyn, Emma and Aiden were building snow men this day and then chopping them down with Dad's martial arts practice swords. Aiden was too shy to be apart of the pictures. Yes they are my husbands children :)

Darth "Gwen" Vader haunts our home

One weekend we had a movie day where we watched Star Wars 4, 5 and 6. We had a great time and have a constant reminder of this weekend from Gwen. There's something wrong about her not being calmed by a primary hymn, but with the imperial march...hum...

Gwen the raccoon

This is what happens when you ignore Gwen too long...she got into my makeup and decided to make herself a raccoon.

Cute Gwen

I had some cute pictures of Gwen that I thought I would share. Here she is painting in the bath with some finger paints. She's 2 and a half. If you ask her if she's two she will say "and a half" :)

One day I came down stairs and found Gwen fast to sleep on the bottom stair. As you can see she made room for her baby who was also asleep as well.

Robyn's Crazy Long Book List...PHEW! It's long!

One morning I was trying to get Robyn to do chores and school with us. Little did I know that she was busy creating a very long book list of books that she wanted to read. She did it all on her own , she definitely got her writing in for the day :)

Kids having fun

So today I let the kids play with my camera. There were a lot of pictures of the ceiling and the floor but then I came across this one. I thought it was VERY creative :)

Gwen decided that she loves the movie Enchanted and is often singing the song "True love kiss". Today however she also tried playing the piano while singing (like what her auntie Sharon does when she comes over) She sang a combination of "True Love Kiss" and "I am a Child of God". She loves to sing the part that the troll sing in his deep voice. I thought this was cute :)
