Aiden's Creative Cooking Show

One day while mom was out, the kids got creative again.  This time: movie making.

It's fun to see Aiden so outgoing.

Grandma's Little Pizza's

When I was a child, I have fond memories of driving to California to visit with Grandma Jill.  I have many fond memories to Husker du to the lemon tree in the back yard.  Most of my memories stem around food.  My favorite thing my Grandma Jill would make are these easy mini pizzas.  I hadn't made them in a long time and decided to try it Kibbie style.  She would make them on English muffins.  Since I can't have them I made my homemade rolls and cut them in half.  The rest of the recipe is as follows:

One can of olives
Home made pizza sauce
shredded cheese

Dice the olive then mix the ingredients together and spoon on to bread halves.  Put them under the broiler for about 5 mins or until the cheese is melted and golden color.

So yummy on a cold winter day!

I found this non dairy cheese at Whole Foods the other day and love it.  It actually melts and as far as I know it tastes good and there really is no dairy in it.  Aiden, Emma and Eva love it! (for those of you in Utah, it's cheaper at Whole Foods than Good Earth)

State Fair 2010

Here are some pictures of our Utah State Fair entries. This year I entered in as a amature rather than a professional and found that it was a little more competitive. It's fun to see your own creations at the State Fair. I really enjoy walking around and glenning ideas from all the other entries.
This year my mom was in town to go to the fair with us and my sister in law Monica joined us with of her kids and grand baby. It was a great time.
I got 4th place for Eva's blessing gown

Third place for Robyn's baptism dress

No place for the story coat. I'll have to admit, it wasn't put together well. I got frustrated with it because the lining did not match up well with the outside of the coat. I took it apart and resewed it about 3 times...Gwen loves it and that's all that matters.

Emma's hand embroidered horse got first place!!

Robyn's doll, Johanna, got first place

2 of Robyn's entries both got a first place ribbion!

Gwen's embroidery of her name. Way to go Gwen!!

Aiden's "flying" house. He got 5th place for it!!

Robyn's Cute Doll

As some of you know, Robyn has a passion for doll making. She loves to check out books from the library about doll making and try making one. This is her latest attempt (a very skilled one) at making another kind of doll. Her grandma Kibbie was in town while she was working on this one and helped her out with the face. I love how the face turned out with the embroidery. The whole doll was done so well. My good friend Joanne Dittmer took this adorable picture with Gwen in the back ground. If you live in Minnesota, she has a photography business. Check out her site:

Emma with her friend Gracie

Robyn, Emma and Aiden have been taking a Shakespere class with our homeschool group this semester. They worked on the play "The Tempest". I got to sew the costumes and they got to have a good time memorizing Shakespere and hopefully learned how to understand it a little better. It was great to watch Aiden learn to be excited about being on a stage. I kept reminding myself how far he has come. Last year was his first year of doing the Primary program. That was 4 years of not participating because he was so scared. I knew it wouldn't be long before the Kibbie side kicked in :). Here are some highlights from this evening...

Aaron's art

Aaron has an amazing ability to draw. Robyn was drawing some elephants to enter into a contest and asked her dad to make his own drawing for her. This is what he came up with.
